Researchers in food technology and product innovation and behavior scientists are increasingly focused on research that contributes to policies for sustainable foods. But who is in fact responsible for making our food system more sustainable? We will discuss the role of science in food politics in a symposium in four key note presentations by Herman Lelieveldt, Johan Garssen, Frank de Bakker and Frits Kremer.

These speakers will subsequently highlight the role of science in food politics from four perspectives: government, food technology, NGO-industry interactions, and the role of supermarkets. The symposium will be chaired by Denise de Ridder, member of Future Food Utrecht.
